Is there a place to get tumblers for the locks on Yamahas?

A friend would like to have one of the locks on his bike rekeyed, but most local locksmiths don't want to touch motorcycle locks. Taking apart a lock is easy enough, so if I had the tumblers I could do it in ten minutes.

Check with Chacal at XJ4ever. I believe I read somewhere that he carries new lock cylinders,

You can also rearrange the existing tumblers to work with the key you have. You will have to remove some that don't have a place that can work. That just will make the lock have 2 ,3 or maybe 4 tumblers instead of the normal 5.

Has anyone come across a locksmith that would work on a motorcycle lock? I'm just curious.

I had my new/spare keys done and a lock re-keyed by a STORE-based locksmith, yes. I had gone ahead and gotten the proper key blanks (there are 6 different ones) and took them to him, along with the original keys and the lock.

He got kind of "miffy" that I had brought my own blanks, as he had them in stock.

Truck-based locksmiths usually don't want to work on bikes, no.

would the same go for re-keying the chain-lock? Mine was missing from my bike when i got it, and would really like to replace it to have it all original. but i would really like to re-key the lock to where it would work with the gas cap/ignition/helmet lock.

I found an excellent locksmith just North of Milwaukee...the guy is a nasty curmudgeon , but does fantastic work. He won't work on anything "on" the bike (so you gotta take it off first and bring it to him). Turns out my bike has 4 different cylinders (gas, ign, helmet, and seat), which is weird be because the P.O. didn't do much in the way of maintenance on anything else (my ignition key is not even a Yamaha key...and yes the title is clean...one owner).
Anyway, I've bought a Vetter fairing and bags (from different people) and he had them all keyed alike in less than 2 days...even had extra key blanks on hand (which I understand they're almost impossible to find)...total cost..$12.76.

As long as it's the same lock "series" A~F. Right now I've got two very nice chain locks for my 550 Secas; both "A" locks; but one bike is an "A" and one is an "F."
