So I got the carb assembly back into the bike and everything cleaned up REALLY well there. Bike fired up but is running on only two cylinders.

1 and 3 are running just fine and 2 and 4 are ice cold.

Plugs have been pulled and cleaned and all the wiring seems just fine.

I have not done any of the ignition tests so far, but I think I might have figured it out since studying people's trouble shooting right here.

On my bike there are two coils; one mounted on the left and one on the right. Cylinder 1 & 3 routed to the left one and 2 & 4 routed to the right.

If that his hooked up correctly, then only half of the each coil is firing properly.

My question is: Which combination is the proper combination for each coil? Does the left coil have 1 & 3 or is it supposed to be 1 & 4? Same for the other side?

The coil for the #1/4 spark plugs is mounted on the left side of the bike, and has the solid orange (ground) wire and the red-with-white-tracer-stripe (hot) wire input leading to it.

The coil for the #2/3 spark plugs is mounted on the right side of the bike, and has the solid grey (ground) wire and the red-with-white-tracer-stripe (hot) wire input leading to it.

pull the drain screws out and see if any fuel comes out. my guess would be no fuel or not enough fuel to run those two cylinders.

someone on here posted a pic of what the coils look like on the inside as i was wondering if my coils were bad at one point and time. the coil itself wouldnt' be bad and i don't thik it's possible to have only one connection inside the coil working. specially since 1 works on one coil with 4 and 2 works off the other coil with 3.

check your fuel level to make sure it's 3mm from the base of the carbs. with perfectly level carbs.

the plugs might not be firing inside the cylinders either.

if the engine is perfect. you'll have around 140 lbs compression inside the cylinders. spark plugs have a MUCH harder time firing under compression then they do standing out in plain air. compression plays a role in that resistance factor. just because plugs work outside don't mean they are working inside.

Sweet! After church I will give it a shot.

I know it is not a fuel problem because when I spray engine start in it, only those two cylinders fire. This was before I cleaned up the carbs. I am almost positive I have fuel to all four.
