I have owned my 650 maxim for about 10yrs, bought as An American import from local dealer. It's been off the road for about 7yrs now. Finally i have decided to get it back on the road slightly modified. Here are a couple of photos of work in progress.

IMG_1627.PNG Here's my ebay buy last month. I plan to cafe racer it - too many std bits have been lost by the PO's
Looking for a set of carbs (650), even ones to borrow so I can check the motor out. The bike is a jap import, whats there is in good nick, but needs seat and rear hoop, brake lever rh switch, carbs, indicators, mirrors, pegs, rear mudguard, coils? What did I miss?

I have a 1982 XJ650 Maxim that I have rebuilt after stripping it down in the winter and having the frame powder coated.
I haven't seen any or been able to find any others in the UK that are in original good condition.
It's Looking pretty good so far and back on the road but still a few bits to do including replacing the after market indicators on the front. If anyone knows where I can get a couple of original front indicator brackets from without paying through the nose I would appreciate it? Also could do with a front fork emblem (Supposed to be chrome effect I believe) and fits into the brackets. Mine is cracked. And would like a King Queen seat in good condition to fit to make the ride more comfortable and support my back.
Unfortunately I Don't get to ride very far as I suffer with severe osteoarthritis but have enjoyed it when I can.

My 82 maxim is in pretty good shape. I've always found bits n bobs on eBay over the years.

    Hi Simon
Nice to know that there are still some about being looked after. Yes eBay is good but parts in good nick are hard to find and if you want originals then the USA is a goldmine but at huge cost! and CMS in Holland have parts but again too costly. Thats the price of having something a bit rare I suppose.
Best enjoy what we have eh!
