82 xj1100 horn problem

    Hello new member I've been chasing electrical on my bike for a wile got most of it working but I have no power at the horn switch and I can't seem to find the horn or chase the wires

    there is a brown wire running from signal fuse to horns then it should be a pink wire running to the horn button.
    brown wires are hot and pink wire runs to horn button to ground.
    so unless the horns are missing you should see voltage to horn button . you have 2 horns mounted under front of gas tank on frame

    Hello I have an 82 yamaha xj1100 it's bin sitting in a shed since 99 but was given to me a few months ago I got it running but a bunch wiring issues got most sorted out except the horn no power at the switch and I can't seem to find the horn or trace the wires any help would be great thank's

    Just took a look and the horns are missing but the wires are there I was wondering what those wires where for thank again

    The OEM wiring is quite skinny and not sufficient for any new-fangled high-current horns. I bought eBay loud horns and added a relay to get high current to the horns. The OEM horn circuit turns on the aftermarket horn relay. Works great and sounds like a large car or truck.
