Some of you are familiar with the t-shirt I printed last year. It debuted at Hogfiddle’s Central NY Carb clinic and I made the remainder of the printed lot available for purchase here on the forum.

As a refresher, you can still see it here: http://www.daspoli.com

I’m going to do another run for 2018 but plan to change it up a bit. It will feature the engine that we all know and love from the previous shirt, but the printed image will be larger and on the back of the shirt (rather than the front like last year). The shirt will also have a small “left chest area” printing that will probably only have words... more on that below...

It still will be a black shirt with a one color (light gray) ink.

I'm struggling with the words as I want to be "correct" or at least make sense as it relates to the XJ Line and/or Motorcycling in general.

    Here’s a quick sketch of what I’m thinking…

The motor will be central with the "Arcs" above and below. Those arcs will contain the messaging.

    I've kicked around:

    XJ RIDE
    NO MODS-NO PODS
    INLINE 4
    XJ OWNER
    XJ OWNERS GROUP
    XJ RIDER
    XJ RIDER CLUB
    GENUINE XJ RELIABLE
    TRIED AND TRUE
SINCE 1980 (Am i correct here? Was it earlier that the XJ appeared?)

Keep in mind, I don't want the messaging to be confused as being associated with any existing association, group or club... which is why I'm thinking those words (club, group, association, etc.) would be bad to use... even though, lets face it, what are we talking about here? A few dozen shirts floating around the country?

    Any thoughts on this???

How about “When you know how they’re built, you’ll ride an XJ”, just playing on their sales lit of that era.

Lol... I could just leave it blank and ship it with a Sharpie Marker so you can customize... Just don't put pods on it please... I understand the arm pit areas won't breathe well if you do!

You will hurts sales (and some members' feelings) if you go with pod bashing on the shirt. Several of the custom xjs in the showcase run pods. Just sayin'.

Yeah, I'm not interested in alienating anyone... and it's such a small run of shirts, huge sales numbers are not a concern of mine either (though I guess it's a good problem to have). I like the "Classic Super Bikes" suggestion that Len made. When I do a quick search on "Yamaha" and "Superbike," I see YZR and FJ and in some cases XS.

Can anyone speak to this? Is XJ in this group?
