Other than stock, what rear discs have you tried that fit the xj750. Are the xj900 identical?

The stock brake system for the 750 is drum. 900 uses disk, so not identical. I wonder how much it would take to put the disk system on the 750. Anyone tried it?

    Yes.

Note to others: he has a 750RL model, it's basically a 900 but fitted with the 750cc engine, everything else on the bike is "900", and thus he does have a rear disc brake (from the factory!).

The 84 XJ750RL has the same rear wheel/disc as the 900.
Although just guessing, I would think the rear disc from the FJ600, FZ600, SRX600 and RZ350 are the same.

Oops! Forgot about the rl! In my defense, even if he had put that in his signature, I wouldn't have seen it- signatures don't show up in the normal view on my phone.
How rare is the rl in N.America?

Shoot. That only makes me want one more! I thought I had seen some for sale. Must have been mistaken, or perhaps they were imports.

    - XJ750 Seca (1984) model is a Canadian- and Australian-only model, which is similar (possibly identical) to the XJ750-F in Europe. It's based on the XJ900, with a slightly different 750 motor than the Seca/Maxim 750 (it uses larger carbs, the airbox from the 900, and the same electronic ignition as the 900). It's so close to the XJ900 that the factory service manual is an XJ900 manual with a short (about 100 pages) addendum for the XJ750RL.

    1984 XJ750 MODELS:

    COUNTRY: CANADA

    MODEL NAME: XJ750ML
STREET NAME: 1984 XJ750 Midnight Maxim
    MODEL ID CODE: 22T
    FRAME ID: 22T
    SERIAL NUMBER STARTS AT: 110101

    MODEL NAME: XJ750RL
    STREET NAME: 1984 XJ750 Seca
    MODEL ID CODE: 44X
    FRAME ID: 44X
    SERIAL NUMBER STARTS AT: 000101
NOTE: XJ750 engine in an XJ900 frame. Only 601 made for the Canadian market. Engine actually displaces 749cc (1cc larger than standard XJ750 models, which were only 748cc's) and uses a hotter exhaust cam, larger (+1,00mm) intake valves, different crankcase, cylinder jugs, and pistons/rings, the XJ900 type clutch assembly and middle gears set, as well as the strengthened 2nd gear set as used in the XJ650 Turbo, XJ750-X, and XJ900 models. Similar but not quite identical to the 1984 Australia-only XJ750RL (45T model). It has been noted that all the Red/Silver XJ750RL models (Canada) seem to have black motors while the Blue/White models (Australia) have silver motors.

    COUNTRY: AUSTRALIA

    MODEL NAME: XJ750RL
    STREET NAME: 1984 XJ750 Seca
    MODEL ID CODE: 45T
    FRAME ID: 45T
    SERIAL NUMBER STARTS AT: 000101
NOTE: XJ750 engine in an XJ900 frame. VERY FEW made for the Australian market. Is there anyway to find out how many XJ750-X were made?
I believe Canada is the only country to have received them though they do seem plentiful here.

Dang it! I had the list whittled down to two, a 650 Seca, and a 700 airhead. Now back to 3, and with only 601 imported, it's gonna be tougher to find than vibranium! Stupid xjbikes!
