So my dad and I after looking and taking a few measurements came up with a plan to fix float post.

First step was to pull out the steel nail the PO put in to help hold broken post (didn’t work lol) then we put the carb in milling machine and mill broken post flat.

We then found a piece of 1/4” aluminum round stock and cut a part about the right length. Put it in the lathe and drilled and tapped for an 8-32 screw.

After that we drilled and tapped remaining post on carb body. Then using blue loctite242. (Researched and found to be most gas resistant.) screwed the two parts together and let sit over night to cure.

We did a dry fit first to make sure 8-32 all thread was proper length. Not to long and not to short.
The next day we put the body in the milling machine sideways and machined the flats on the post.

After that I went to hobby shop and got a 2.5mm drill (this is the size of the float rod)
And we laid out the spot and carefully by hand drilled through the existing hole to the new hole with drill bit in dremil tool.

    There ya go. Fixed.
    Hope this helps others.

Don't you just love machine tools!
However, with a hacksaw and file you can accomplish the same thing.

Might not be a little machine, could be a giant hand!
