Wanted 1983 yamaha xj750 maxim engine

I am in search of a used motor that for sure you know runs for a 1983 Yamaha xj750 maxim am really only looking to spend around $125 could maybe go more

 

What went bang? Or is it just tired

 

Had bad piston rings and a couple other members told me that it would be cheaper to just replace the motor

 

Also had some gouges in the pistons and instead of paying a shit ton of money for all new pistons and rings and kits would just rather replace the whole motor instead

 

Any 750 engine will do the trick

 

I'm trying to find one as long as it fits and runs I am interested in it I don't care how it looks or even if it's only just an engine the bike requiring it is mine and my wife's very first bike we ever had together and I want to fix it back into riding condition for her

 

If you don't mind driving a few miles Hogfiddles probably has one, he's in upstate NY

 

That's more then a few miles for me I'm hoping to find someone who has who is either close or will ship

 

I'm in Woodhull Illinois and have one. Complete motor and transmission minus the gear selector holder spring. I think it's got 32k on it so it may be more miles than you're looking for. Sitting on a cart under my workbench

 

I'm interested as well. Can you confirm that its in good working condition? Oh, and cost.

 

I doubt it's worth very much, but I'd guess shipping to you would be too expensive for it to be practical. You can send me a message outside of this thread if you'd like to with a cell number and I can send you a small video of it running.

 

I am no longer doing the engine swap I am parting out the bike obviously motor is junk and I am keeping the frame everything else I will sell though
