Yep, my 83's were the brand new state-of-the-art bikes the year I graduated HS.

Come to think if it, I'm even older than the '67 305 Dream project I have going! (well, by only two years(

Yea getting old is a pain. But I refuse to grow up! Having way too much fun. I got 23 yrs on my XJ Heck I got out the military just before it came out. First bike was 72 Honda CL 350 twin. Got in 1982 for $50.00.

It IS weird to think of myself being younger than my bike! But I was born in '92, and my bike has been around since '82.

Does it seem like '82 is the most common year of maxims for some reason? Everyone I know that has one (only two people really but still) happens to have a 1982.
