I've been taking apart and cleaning up 'em gizzards 'n guts on my Hitachi carbs. I've got a dumb question... but sometimes it helps just to ask and be sure.

Along the way, I found the pilot mixture needle widget thingie is bent on the end -- from carb #1 ... at least, I think that's what the part's called? I couldn't find it in the exploded diagram.

I'm assuming this is something I need to replace? Time to see if Chacal carries them? Or is it workable as is?

    Here's a pic. Looks gnarly...

    The horror!
Yeah Widget Thingie is an acceptable term...*
It is trash, but the galling on the tip makes me fear for the bore that it fits into.

Yes Chacal should have those. Find out who did that damage and then publicly shame them.
See if you can get in some good light and peek inside that hole where it goes.

    * it is the needle that controls the air/ fuel mixture to the carbs and is adjusted by screwing it, so defining it isn't as important as a good picture.

look into the hole that the mixture screw goes into for damage also check the little holes in the carb throat where the tip of the needle comes through for damage.
