I sincerely hope that none of our members have been burned out by the california fires----but if you are one that was......

I have a couple campers here that are at least a dry safe place to hole up for the time-being. I don't have electric at them, but if you don't mind 'roughing it'.......It's a long way to go, to get to central NY, and a long way from home, but it's something that I can offer.

Send a private conversation to me.

Fires are probably worst since insurance company's expect a list of specific assets lost. Fire leave little but ashes in house, so if you didn't have inventory list in safe place it will be a challenge to remember.

We lost things to a flood, we simply inventoried them by video tape as we threw them in dumpster. Insurance wrote a big check.

Hope Xj'ers in CA are safe.

Been through a fire... Been through water damage....have just felt an earthquake.

I'd say fire is worst, too.......fire destroys stuff. All the others just damage stuff.sometimes you can repair damage......you can't repair ashes

That is a very nice gesture Dave.

As if the fire aren't terrible enough. The smoke is effecting a lot of people mainly the elder for miles and miles around.

Don't earthquakes cause fires, what with busted gas lines and downed power lines? Up here we have ice storms, no electricity for a while, but that's basically it. Had 2 floods within 6 months at the old place, worst part was ripping out the newly installed floor, but the insurance company had paid for it, so just frustrated. They wouldn't pay for a second reno, but everything was in rubber bins, so mainly a nuisance. Can't imagine being faced with a real disaster!
