I recently purchased a failed xj650 maxim bobber project. The rear of the frame was cut off just rear of the shock mounts. If anyone has cut a 650 maxim frame in the same place, but saved the cutoff portion I am
looking for one. The bobber frame is titled and I would like to restore it to stock but need the rear to weld back on.

I can help with that, I got hit last October and bike is totaled. Front is all bent but rear appears fine and I can cut it wherever you want. PM me if interested.

Was the bike that got totaled the one you restored so beautifully with the green tank ? That would be heart breaking.

Yessir unfortunately it was. You’d think it would be heartbreaking but after going through it I really wasn’t bothered by the bike loss. I’ll PM ya.

I think I've got the rear section behind the suspension somewhere. If you need you them, let me know and I'll look for them.

Sad to see nice bikes hacked up for bobbers. Most never get finished.
Just like the chopper craze years ago.

Keep your eyes open for Bobberbortions. I got two for 300 bucks with a title and enough parts to complete
a stock Maxim, with a few new bearings, gaskets, seals, etc tossed in for safety sake.
