So I'm just getting around to clean up my gas tank for the 550 SECA. The sensor seems to be a little rusty and plenty in the tank. I pulled the unit. Is there a safe way to test the unit out of the tank? Just to see if it works... Also, if anyone could point me in the right direction as of how to clean this up that would be great. I'll attach a pic.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jim

Testing: move arm slowly from full to empty and observe ohm values:
    Full: 75-85 ohms
    Empty: 6-10 ohms

Try vinegar and a soft brush.

Thanks for the replies. I just plugged it in and hooked up the battery turned the key and it works.

I will now try and clean it up a bit.

I like to use lemon juice and my ultrasonic cleaner, seems to work for most parts like that.
