I am relocation my ignition switch and don't want to use the stock one I want something a bit smaller. I know I need a 3 wire switch but do I also need a 2 position switch. Also and recommendations to which ignition switch would work.

the oem switch has off on park and lock.
you just need a keyed on off switch, the oem switch has input from main fuse and output to the other fuses, when in on position

you need one amp rated for main fuse at 14 volts

you could use a starter switch and not use the starter button

Most aftermarket switches will not include the lock function.

I ended up re using the stock one took the lock mechanism out and cut it down. Made a bracket and connected it to the battery ground lead on the engine.
