Hi , I have been into motorcycles for a long time and I recently acquired an XJ650 Seca. It has not been run for a few years but appears to be in good condition. I am presently cleaning the carbs, oil and filter change, new plugs, rebuild kit for the petcock and then I will start it. Later I will set the valves, sync carbs and complete the tune up.

A previous owner installed pods (they might be Emgo's ) can it run well with these? I know that most CV carbs work best with the original air filter and box but I have not been able to find any

As for the bike running on pods it will run, how well is up to the PO and if they jetted it and tuned for the pods. I think if you keep an eye on ebay you might be able to find a stock box. That or one of the other members that has your style of bike might chime in soon and say they have a stock box to sell you.

650 Seca parts will be tough to get... You have a somewhat rare bike- only available in 82 in North America. Top right corner of every page here is a link to xj4ever. He's got more parts than anyone else, and he knows these bikes. He's also a user here. Username Chacal.
