Shove pennies between the coils to stretch the spring.

Probably not the best solution but I went into the coffee can full of brake springs at work and found one that would work as I had the same issue when I shortened my kickstand. Been on there since may and haven't had any issues

Our local ACE hardware has an assortment of springs. Perhaps they would have something?

where did you shorten the stand? Why won't the OEM spring fit?

It shortened the stand in the middle bike would tip over easy otherwise the Orem spring became to long and would just fall off

If you go too far with it, it will loose it's tension. I can understand wanting to use a part you already have, but sounds to me like you'd be better off finding a different spring that will work better for your needs

I'd just move the spring loop that's on the stand. Cut, weld, done. Just don't move it too much.

Is the little pin underneath ,the bike, that holds one one of the spring supposed to fall out? And do you hook yer spring on the kickstand and underneath in the same direction or will it fall off?
