Shortened cable

    get a bolt drill a hole in it the same size as the barrel slot the bolt across the end deep enough to hold cable put a rod on hole in bolt(drill bit works)
    flux cable as shown melt down cable end into hole cool and tap rod to drive fixed end out clean it up and it is like new.

    i saw it on youtube

    will fail just like a new cable at the cable when it frays

    Yeah I wouldn't use a bullet. Every old tackle box has some lead in it.
