I'm seriously thinking about ordering a carb rack on eBay just to satisfy the desire to learn how to do a complete cleaning and rebuild. Has anyone else done that? I'm the type that likes to try and fix stuff. I've read so much here about fixing carbs (thanks hoggfiddles, et. al.) that I can't wait to start working on one.

There are legends of a man who has a rack... OF RACKS! No one knows if the legend of the Central New York hoard is true, or what motivated it's creation, but every summer, a festival is held in it's honor.

Having a spare, fully rebuilt, rack of carbs is never a bad thing.

only one problem with having an extra set of working carbs. you will buy a bike that they fit on be able to get it up and running quicker then have a spare set of carbs to rebuild and all parts need a bike to go on it is an endless circle. another bike up and running another set of carbs to be rebuilt to put on another bike........

I'm thinking it may be your partner who thinks it's a problem and not you. ;-) Amirite?

Yeah I had to push to get her to ride with me the first time. Started out as "I can't do this!" and an hour later it was "How much is this?" Got her in the class right after that and away we went. She's on a Rebel 250, great starter bike but she outgrew it really quickly. Seems to be the story with most of these 250's, outgrow really fast and move on. I bought it 8 years old and only had 1200 miles on it.

My wife hasn't ridden on my bike since we had kids 30 years ago. The sissy bar/backrest has been unused most of its life.

I'm glad I ended up getting my rack from you instead of the unknown of Ebay.
