Been a few days since I have posted anything.
Going to change the left control switch for the turn signals and the horn. I haven't had a working horn since I bought the bike, not the horns themselves but the inner part of the switch has been broken. Day off and I need to do something till it warms up and then off to the races.

Last week was able to ride in the afternoons and surprising I only saw one other bike out and about. Might be because it was hovering around 32 degrees as the high. Very Cold for this location oddly no rain just cold. Rain in the forecast for the next couple of days then back to cold.
Noticed that both my front forks are leaking oil. Not sure why I just had them done two years ago.
What I did notice is that one day when it was like 25 degrees out, I went out riding and during the ride, I noticed the oil residue on the forks themselves.
Another project once it starts to rain regularly

Last few days I have been able to ride around town, and by this, I mean around Medford Oregon. Usually takes about an hour to take the scenic route to circumvent the city. Looks beautiful from afar and even better once I get some elevation.

May the New Year bring many more happy riding miles to everyone.

Well changed out the control witch for the horn and turn signals and that didn't work. Got power to the horns but nothing happens when I push the button.
power on = power to horn
push horn button = no interuption of the power to the horn
    Any ideas

It's too damn cold! If it were a little warmer, I'd be willing to go sit on it and wish I was riding. Too cold even for that!

It feels wrong to almost click the like button for Jetfixer's post, but sadly that is about the situation here as well

Found a good price on a new (to me) speed/tach for xj650 #2. The current gauge is really faded and has a busted housing. May have to push the baby into the kitchen from the unheated garage to make the switch. Wishful thinking only

Switch is after the horn. Switch should allow the horn to ground. Its wired a bit wierdly imho, but there should be +12v at the horn all the time. As you've got power there's the fuse is good.

If you stick a meter on the switch itself, you should have no continuity between the terminals with the button off, and continuity with the button pressed, right? Just to confirm the switch is working. Also, you should have continuity from the switch to ground all the time with one terminal, and only while the button is pressed off the other terminal.

Rumour has it we'll go from the -30 we've had over the last week to back above freezing on New year's day. The street I live on is all packed snow and gravel, but the main roads are already cleared, hoping I can get out and ride a bit then.

Went out for a nice ride. Got rear ended at a stoplight. Luckily just a tap enough to bend the license plate. Same spot I got rear ended in a car about 10 years back

    Glad you're not injured.

    Glad the bike is ok.

I hope you didn't let them get off too easy.

At least you weren't in an airplane in Costa Rica
