That's called an " impact driver". Lol

 

Use a flat file or a grinder to remove the tip of the screwdriver. It'll fit more like a jis. Also be careful to "tap" on the end of the screwdriver or you'll drive the shaft through the handle or it will shatter completely.

I love Chem-Dip. I reserve it for the really gunked up carbs though, since it has to be disposed of as a hazardous waste. I want to get as much use out of it before disposal as I can.

 

ok so now my fuel tank is in a solution for the electrolysis.
I noticed that the washing soda i bought the concentration of sodium carbonate is around the 30%....
Is this a problem ?
I used like 100 grams of my washing soda in the whole tank.

Any help would be nice

 

The chemistry is pretty forgiving. As long as the solution is alkaline and bubbling away you're golden. If you had used 100% sodium carbonate then I'd be concerned about your ratio of powder to water. It's hard to get the solution too akaline with storebought washing soda, but as you've found it can be difficult to get it akaline enough depending on the product. The washing soda that I use is typically 85% sodium carbonate (Arm & Hammer brand). Being as you are in Belgum you may have to source that concentration from a chemist's shop or a building maintainance supplier.

 

So if i triple my dose im fine ? Well im curious if it worked overnight.

It's like 1 month ago since i posted something. I was realy busy with work...
I proud to tell u guys that yesterday i started the engine !


I got a video :


As u see it was a little hard to get the fuell in the system and not damage the starter.
Offcourse the engine does not run smooth.
When its cold with starter it runs amazingly fine.
When the engine gets warm and the starter is off the engine quits under 3000 RPM.
Above the 3000 RPM it runs good.

I'm not an expert on what does this problem means ?

Oh and btw my electrolysis for my fuell tank does not work at all.... I tried everything but i just dont get an electrical curcuit.
So now i need to find another solution to clean my fuel tank.

Any toughts ?

 

I always use electrolysis and it works amazing. Make sure you ground out the negative lead on the battery charger to the tank well, meaning there can't be any paint where you clamp the lead to. Also some battery chargers won't work on the regular "charge" setting, I had to switch my charger to "activate" in order for it to work.

Rough running can be a lot of different things . . .
In regards to your carbs that were cleaned:
Did you do a bench synch?
Running synch?
Colortune?
Running synch?

 

Nice. It doesn't sound bad. By the time you dial it in it should be fine.

nice find looks great other than the rusty chrome bits. An SOS pad may clean the chrome up,
I know that windjammer fairing has got to be rare over there , may have some value in that too

 

The first time after cleaning the carbs, it takes many crank revolutions to get fuel in the gas line and the carbs.

Did you measure and adjust the valve clearances? The perfect time to do this was when you had the gas tank off to take out the carbs.

You need to vacuum balance the carbs, but, its almost a waste of time until you measure and adjust the valve clearances.

 

I've had excellent results using white vinegar to clean a rusty gas tank. You may need to do it a couple or three times if the rust is extremely thick. Just fill the tank and seal her up. Let it soak for 8-10 hours flipping it over a couple times during the process. I rinse with gasoline to keep the flash rust to minimum.

Sounds like it will be a good running bike once you get the valves in spec and do a vacuum sync!

 

I know it's been a while since you posted this thread but I'm just curious how your Seca is doing. I just bought one and I'm particularly interested in the saddlebag rack you have on the back of the bike. Is that an aftermarket item made by Yamaha? I'm also looking for a right side cover panel if you happen to know how to get hold of one. Thanks.
