i have just bought a 1981 xj 750r for 600cdn runs very well. i have taken it to get saftied to insure it and was told to replace the left uper shock tube due to small amount of denting.
does anyone no what other tubes will fit this bike since i am finding it hard to find parts for this particuliar year and size model.
i have been reading lots of thread on site and cant belive the amount of knowledge here learning alot in hopes of avoiding and adressing furte issues. will post pictures soon. thanks

You might have better luck by telling people what you're actually looking for:

Fork tubes. "Upper" or "inner" fork tubes if you want to be really specific.

thanks, well i am actually looking for the upper left side(while siting on the bike) fork tube. looks like some one was hitting it with a hammer at some point. seems to be very difficult to locate. its the only thing stopping me from getting this bike on the road.

AFAIK left and right are the same.

I have an extra set that needs to be inspected for dings... I'll look at them when I get home and let you know if either one is usable.
