welding on frame

    This site is great. You guys really do have all the answers. Now, I've done a search but couldn't find anything (prolly not asking the right way).
    I thought I read somewhere on here that you had to disconnect something to weld on your frame if the bike was all together. I remember in the old days you could screw up a magneto, but in this age of whiz-bang electronics I didn't think it was neccessary.
    If it is? What is it? And what's it look like?

    disconect the battery and remove all of the major electronic components, coils, ecu, reg/rec etc. its a pain in the arse but it is the safest way.

    Espeicially the TCI. Clamp the ground close to where your welding.
