Do you guys keep time on your bikes? What do you use/where did you put it? I think I'd like a little clock somewhere.

I've been told told that the time spent on your bike is not charged against your "time on earth" clock.

Other than that........I just look at my watch whenever I stop to refuel.

I used one of these, made by Formotion specifically for motorcycles:

So do I. But I also wear proper protective gear (armored jacket, etc.,) that makes actually GETTING TO my watch in rush-hour traffic a bit impossible at times.

I found the clock to be such a useful "farkle" I installed one on the other bike too.

    That clock looks great.

But, around here, ... you'd come out from the coffee shop and it'd be gone.

I usually wear a watch, but Fitz it correct. Gloves make it hard to get to. I'll probably see about a cheap-o watch and go from there.

C'mon. I work in downtown Detroit, where they (the Cass Corridor crackheads) regularly steal my "centerstand board" from a guarded parking lot.

It doesn't just "snap" off and on as originally designed, trust me.

I like the Formotion clocks because they're impervious to vibration, rain, etc., plus it looks like it "belongs" since the numbers on the face are nearly identical to the Yamaha instruments.

I've had one for over four years now and the other for over three, and I still have both of them. I might also note they keep the most accurate time of anything in the house other than my wristwatch.

    Highly recommended.

Does anybody really know what time it is?
    Does anybody really care?
If so I can't imagine why
We've all got time enough to cry

And I was walking down the street one day
A pretty lady looked at me and said
Her diamond watch had stopped oh damn!

    And I said

When I get on the bike and go, I really don't care about the time! The longer it takes me to get there the better I like it!!!

I commute on my XJs, so I pretty much have to care.

There is no clock on the Norton.

I commute on mine as well. And I've determined (from showing up late a few times) that I drive much slower on my bike than I do in my car. I have to leave earlier, and I would like to be able to tell how much time I can spend on my bike before it'll make me late. :D

dmcoach busted me-- I got mine off Amazon as well. Not quite the same model as what he posted though.

I figured out what I was looking for from the Formotion website; then started web-searching and ended up with Amazon.

The one I used is the 72000 model, stick on: http://www.formotionproducts.com/SO%20Classic2.htm

They have a wide variety of styles, though. Aluminum cases, white faces-- lots to choose from. Explore their site.

I pitched their "self adhesive discs" (the foam was too thick) and used the same 3M automotive trim mounting tape I use for sidecover badges and --go figure-- automotive trim.

I've had one of them for over 4 years now (new battery) and one for about three years; and I'm VERY pleased. I can testify that they are waterproof and vibration-resistant, and keep very accurate time. (Maybe it's that Citizen movement.) Granted, they're not super-cheap. But again, you get what you pay for and I'm very happy with this minor investment in quality equipment.

    Highly recommended.

Once you stick, how much trouble is it to get it back off for a battery change?
