    Hey all,

Wondering if anyone in the Vancity area wants to get together to wrench, talk bikes and whatnot? Hit me back if you're interested!

    Hi Lee,

I'm an XJ newb in Vancity interested in all of the above (the whatnot is exploring some of the popular rides). Currently taking the BCIT moto maintenance class and looking to apply some of those skills on my bike. I just got some progressive fork springs and rear shocks and would like to restore the bike to its full potential.

    Rgds,

    Vadim

    Hi Lee,

    You mean this one?

<< Thanks Xvadim. They look nice I think, I'll add a shot or 2 up shortly. The bike seemed to be more quiet and a bit smoother ride on the way home. Although my shocks need some adjusting... HA! I put them on with the stainless ties. They are kinda tough to get really tight, due to the tiny ball barring in there having a ways to slide down. I was wearing the surgicals, but slipped and cut right right them into my index finger. definitely wear some sturdy gloves.... Check your brake shoes! Bigfitz's forum scared me into it!
    xjbikes.com/Forums/vie...15874.html I see you're in the h00d. Nice. >>

Thanks man. Sorry I didn't have a chance to respond yet, trying to clear my schedule for wrenching.

I really appreciate the heads up on the brake shoes. I recall reading something about this prob in the past, but forgot all about it, so I'm glad you refreshed my memory. Safety first! I found a pair for $60 ($77 retail - EBC I think) at MotoMethod. Daytona Motorsports gave me a quote of $79 (doah!). Not exactly a bargain as they are listed online for $40 across the border.

Sorry to hear about your index finger! I remember trying to lay down some fiberglass insulation for an attic and I ended up with little needle in my hands... a real pain.

So where are you at? I'm in Yaletown, currently free on weekdays to tool around. My project bike is attached.

Cool. So a few people are down for a cruise.
I have to wrap up a few things with mine too.
Let's shoot for a June or July ride.

I have holidays in June, but could make arrangements in July .. I'm also doing the Ride for Doug in Langley on the 2nd. A good cause (20.00) about a 2hr ride with about 100 bikers around the lower mainland (mostly Langley, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford areas. They have a barb-ba-que later .. a nice day.

Hi guys, new here, and new to bikes. I recently bought a 82 Seca 650 Canadian, it's a bit of a fixer-upper but it rides and runs great. I just sprained my ankle playing softball so cant ride for another week or 2, but I'd love to do a cruise one of the days. Squamish run or whistler perhaps? So far I've only got 1 other friend that rides, and he's got a Yamaha R6, so I tend to cruise at a more leasurly pace... wouldn't mind cruising with some more Yamaha aircooleds!
