For sale a nice 1982 XJ 750 Maxim. This bike is currently 90% dis-assembled. I had planned on restoring it, but it turns out I don't have the resources to complete the job. All this bike needs are 2 new tires and a battery to make it complete. Included are new parts acquired in the past few years: a whole engine gasket kit, rear brake shoes, stainless steel bolt kit, original side cover emblems. There are also a number of used parts like a second set of carbs, second set of forks, an additional gas tank sending unit, plus other extra's too numerous to mention here. When I bought the bike, it had not run in over 10 years, upon dis-assembly of the top end I found that the rings of #4 cylinder were all stuck solidly in their grooves, they have been freed and I also found that there was a broken valve guide for #1 cylinder. The place is Las Vegas NV. The price is $1,500.00 CASH ONLY and nothing will be shipped, prospective buyers will have to come to Las Vegas. If anyone is seriously interested I will not sell the bike out from under the interested buyer so long as a 10% earnest fee is sent ahead to me and the fee will count towards the sale price. All interested in this bike please PM me so we can have a Q&A and to make arrangements. It is advised that prospective buyers bring a pick-up truck or a u-haul trailer. This bike should only be bought if you are a mechanic or you have a mechanic to help re-assemble this bike. Or someone might buy it to sell off for parts.

Steve; the only way you're gonna see $1500 is to part it out; here or on eBay.

Nobody will give you $1500 for what is essentially now a "parts bike" (since it's literally just a pile of parts.) Especially considering that a fully assembled and even running example can often be found for half as much.

Thanks Fitz, I guess I was just too optimistic. I thought that somebody would want a complete dis-assembled bike to have a project of their own. I will wait for a while before I start to part it out myself.

Somebody very well might. But they won't give you $1500.

I have figured out that my message isn't getting out there what with just a tiny fraction of the 14,500+ members looking at the site at any given time. Guess I'm off to Craig's list.

Tinier even when you consider who's in driving distance from Vegas.
