    2.3 or 3.6 US gallon tank depending on the year. The 535 was a "lifestyle" bike. They got around 43 MPG if memory serves. I nearly bought one new in '96, but came home with a 2 year old EX-500 (should have bought the Kenny Roberts RZ-350 instead, but it was $200 more than the EX. I missed out on getting myself a collectable bike).

    A buddy of mine who I ride with has one like that, except its an 85 750 iirc, and totally, the tank is TINY!

    My understanding is that the tank is fake and the fuel is held in the frame.

    The top tank is just the place where the filler neck is along with a small tank to gravity feed the carbs. The actual fuel tank is under the seat, and small itself. The numbers I cited are the total fuel load for the small Viragos.

    I'll bet that the fuel range is long enough that you are grateful to be able to get off the bike and have a stretch/walk around.
    God that looks uncomfortable and I'm a long way from being a big guy.
