I have a 1985 maxim xj700 that needs intake boots from carb to engine. I cant find them anywhere online and did not find them in chacals catelog but i could have accidentally skipped over the in there. Is any other bike have compatible parts or something like that. I am looking for new or slightly used so i am not really looking for a repair unless you have a 100% reliable fix. Thank for the help

The XJ700 was only made for 2 years and the boots are as hard to find as hen's teeth. The 700N, 700NC and the 700X all shared the same 33mm carb intake boots. Also the FZ had the same motor as the 700X, so the boots are probably the same as well. So widen your search to list those models.
So people have used 83 750 Maxim boots as replacement, but that also requires using the 750 carbs since the carbs and boots for the 750 are 32mm.

Just because you can't find something in chacal's catalog doesn't mean he doesn't have it. ASK HIM.

Airhead and waterhead XJ700's use completely different carbs, intake manifolds, and airbox boots. We should have new or good used versions available for either style.

i just finally after two or three months put my carbs in and the front boots went on, i dont want say easy, but on. the back ones, i got them back out of the air box, but they wont go completely back all the way over the circumference of the carb! ITS LIKE THEY SHRUNK!! Man, I'm so pissed!

What could have happened? would brake cleaner, make them swell alittle? or is that carb cleaner. i could swear that one of them did on the front boots' O Rings, when i was spraying grime off them. maybe that's why the front ones went on.?...?

You can boil the airbox boots to swell them enough to fit.
