I am in an evil mood. would be nice to find a group of people to reply and offer less than 2500 and rave how cool the bike looks and how much skill he has to turn out a fine ride like that.

Bwahaahaa, I like your evil plan. I'll start the ball rolling..

Here's what I'm sending (I'm playing it as though I haven't read his ad correctly)

Hi, I see you would like $2,500 for your project motorcycle. It looks like it is missing a few pieces, but that's okay I'm only going to use it for parts.

I can offer a 1991 dodge colt (parts car), a slightly damaged canoe, one good paddle and two life jackets (one floats!) along with $1000 !

    Will you deliver it?

    Here's his response:

"It's been up for a while with not much interest so I guess we can go ahead and trade"

    Surprise!

    Anyone want it? I don't.

I'll donate the '91 dodge parts car and two life jackets to the cause, but you'll have to find a canoe, a paddle and $1000 bucks on your own. Ha ha.

Yes, more like a "tail between the legs" response. I was bracing to get an "ear full" of profanities thrown at me, or no reply at all.

Aw, you went and got his hopes up. Cold hard cash in his hand and the chance to paddle his own canoe.

...and it's not even a Harley canoe.

...although, he could chrome the gunwales...

His description is spot-on, aside from having rebuilt the cock. That worries me a little. At least he used new rubbers when he did. Always play safe.

He is asking Kenny Roberts RZ350 money for it though. It might be worth $4K if it were an all-stock RD400 Daytona in showable condition.

If you want to get pulled over every block, this is your bike

Damn, its freaking spooky how did he know that I love getting constantly pulled over by the cops? *Must have that bike* :)

I think this picture says it all... the caption reads "Ran when parked" and 'comes with free firewood'...

If ^that^ were a diferent bike it'd be worth cutting the trees down to save it.
As-is it's a very cool statement on impermanence and the power of the natural world.

Great ad! I love a sense of humour.

Now, if only one could integrate those custom fitted tree trunks into a bobber creation....

Keep them coming, these ads are a great morning read :)

Oh, by the way, I let the "go pound sand" guy down gently by telling him I decided to revive another bike (which I am, so no lie there). I started to feel sorry for him.

Check this bad boy out... if Liberace had ridden a motorcycle, I have to believe it might have looked something like this. Pretty fancy considering it will spend most of its life sitting parked in front of a cafe while its owner drinks lattes or craft beers...
and he is only asking a dollar for it :) http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/5477263380.html

I mean no offence to those that like them, but what is the draw of a cafe racer as they call them. I mean really, the seats look uncomfortable, posture on them would suck so your back would be killing you in no time, hampered steering and holy crap the vibration from the wheels would be horrible from the looks of things... I may be wrong in my assumptions as you know most times when you ass u me... don't get me wrong customizing bikes I like but this I think most times is just destruction. Please tell me I'm wrong, but that is my opinion.
