Jump in my time machine and go back to 1984 and get a new xj900r

 

A 2016 FJR 1300ES- cruise control (max speed 105 mph), traction control, LED lights, on the fly adjustable suspension etc.etc... (Love my 2013, but new is always better!)

 

Sweet bikes, both of them. I really like the sport tourers.

I have grown up during the modern bike era before disc brakes and big motors
1970 cb750 4 cyl , heavy but smooth , poor brakes and rubber frames. Beginning of the end for British bikes.

Skip to 1997 gsxr750 and a bike so light it felt like a 500cc bike.wow is it stupid fast and handle and stop and wheelie and .....crash claims jumped about 30%

Truth, I'd have like 15 awesome bikes instead of 1 expensive bike

 

I would have a hard time picking a bike. I like 4 cylinders rather than 2 thumpers, I don't like crotch rockets or the "retro" cruiser look.

I like the "street bike" look of the mid 80's XJ's.
There is a reason I've kept my XJ550 all these years.

I like the Honda Rebel look, just a bit too small. The Triumph Bonnevilles look nice, and might be considered.

I had the money and went with a yamaha raider, theirs no other bike I'd rather be on. 113 cubic inches stock, torque monster, and handles like a dream.

 

A bike for every day of the week

Monday: Goldwing with coffee cup holder .. Need coffee and a couch like ride
Tuesday: Now that I'm awake and really want to ride a little quicker my xj650rj
Wednesday: hump day, a small detour on the way to work Ducati super Motard
Thursday: got to be cool , not too excited about weekend, but ready to leave early if I want to.. XS1100 Midnight Special
Friday: ok now we talking ...1979 CBX1000
Saturday: not going far, corner store, beach, buddies for a beer,etc...my 1969 Z50 euro model ( street legal)
Sunday: maybe go to the track and check out the new stuff or a ride with friends....Kawasaki KZ1000 Eddie Lawson replica oh wait maybe a Honda CB1100f Canadian model red/ white with gold comstar wheels and factory fairing ... Oh god why to I have to choose just one Sunday bike....

Just keep buying those Lotto tickets
