I have been working through electrical stuff on the bike and I am building all new wiring harnesses, but I can't find these style connectors anywhere! I have gotten the other kinds, but these don't show up, does anyone know where I can get them or some keywords that might lead me there? These ones are used on the handlebar controls. I can completely replace them with other ones I have, but would like to tie in if I can. Any help would be great, thanks!

Unfortunately, we DON'T have that style connector (one of the few that we do not have). About the only solution is to replace those with the more commonly available "flat blade" style terminals and shells.

Are the plastic blocks ok ,or just bad internal connections
The socket and pin metal connector can be replaced.
There are spring tabs that hold them in place

Radio Shack sells cell phones now. They aren't the Shack I remember.

My local (before they were dropped) carrries components, including molex pins.
The Shack that I remember isn't much better than what's been around for the past ten years. That might have something to do with having access to the Tectronix Country Store when I was growing up. RS was to Tec as Kroger is to Home Depot.

They don't even call it Radio Shack around here anymore, it's The Source. More like a Best Buy than anything. More appliances and gadgets than parts for electronics.

why would you want to put the original type connectors back on when modern waterproof ones are so much better?
you can make it original or better than original, i won't tell anybody.
those connectors are a headache for a lot of people, one of the first things to check on a old bike

I have no problem with the idea of replacing with new bones of the same type.... if they last for 35 years again, I'll be in my upper 80's by then----

I bought a set on vintage connections but the connectors are huge. A six pin connector is at least an inch wide and doesn't look great and takes up a lot of space.
