Hi everyone I finally got my bike back up and running but I can not figure out how to tune it? The gunson color tune makes the bike misfire and when I replace it with the plug the bike runs fine. I am unsure what I am doing wrong.

Are you sure you are adjusting the air/fuel mixture screw when dialing in the colortune color (as described above)?

Do you have one of the older colortunes without the insulator in the middle? I have one and the spark would jump on the outside and cause it to stumble. I cut a piece of insulation off an old spark plug wire and put it over the center electrode on the outside before attaching the wire.

If not, make sure it's clean on the inside and there is sufficient gap between the center electrode and the outside.

Even Gunson told me to wrap with layer of black tape around where extension tube attached. I used shrink wrap and misfiring and arcing solved

You know I have a color tune. I have not been able to get the color of the flame that I want using the color tune. I plan on trying again and I'm sure it's a great tool. But if you listen to the engine carefully you could do it by ear. The engine will run just fine. Have you ever tuned the lawnmower? Slowly turn in one adjustment screw at a time by 1\4 turn at a time. Give the motor time to calm down in between turns. .. You will hear the engine note change, the engine will slightly slow down and listen carefully on a four-cylinder. Then back it out a 1\4 turn. The bike will run fine like that. You Can you can always pull your spark plugs and check the color. Lite CoCo Brown would be sweet.
    Hope this helps a little.
