Hey all...Every schematic shows a Main fuse about an inch away from the battery. (81 xj650) Is this fuse invisable? Do I need special spy glasses #xb¥₩μ ?
Seriously I have opened the harness to the handlebars and no 20 amp main fuse.
My idiot brother plugged headlights into ignition plug and it cranks but no fire. Should the r/w wire coming out of solinoid be hot? Cuz its dead. Not the fuse box r/w tho. Brother hangs at sunset if I cant get help. Thanks..

a schematic shows where things are electrically, not physically. the main fuse is with the rest of the fuses on the fuse block

Then why not just put the damn fuse box with an arrow pointing to #1?
Sparkys are next on the hanging list.
I'm out working on it now..any ideas on why no power out of solinoid to r/w wire? Does solinoid send power to ignitor? Coils? Relays?
Why are there a hundred and forty twelve wires for a headlight and 4 #$$#" turnsignals and a horn???

    You rock Polock.
I had just pulled ignition (which consists of a hole a half inch wide screw driver fails to fill sans key) and will track down ohm specs for that and kill switch. Still bugged by no power out of solinoid r/w yet it cranks starter just fine. Your valuable time is very much appreciated Sir.

Your lucky day........entire XJ650G wiring diagram..........

This diagram is from the official Yamaha XJ750J Service Manual ( LIT-11616-XJ-71 ).......the XJ650G Service Manual is ( LIT-11616-01-94 )

    Happy tracing.....fun stuff

Now, remove the noose around your brother's neck.

    Polock,
