1983 Yamaha XJ 900

Curves good.
I had an XJ900 a couple of years ago and it was okay but I found I liked my Seca 650 better. I still have it, the 650, and it still comes off better in comparison to a Seca 750 Touring, for me anyway.
Have fun with your new family member and keep us posted on the progress.

I do not think I can improve on what Yamaha did .
If I were to cut and slash a bike, I would cut and retain the head stock and build back from there.

 

Yup too nice a bike to turn into a cafe racer.

 

I actually had a few emails with Josh. I'm not too far from him and told him that I was interested. His asking price was more than reasonable. I was willing to go get her so that she didn't fall into the wrong hands... Money is tight however and timing was not optimal... Seemed there was some interest here on the forum from others so I was actually secretly hoping she would get picked up by someone (here) with more skills than I...

Joe, you said it exactly right. I would like to have saved this bike but a lot of hoops to jump through to have made it so. I too am very glad it is going to a good XJ loving home. Well done folks!

There is one on today’s Vancouver Washington Craigslist for 1900. Any one interested should check it out. This one has been on-off Craigslist a few times in the last year.
