Check XJ4ever, link at top right. If he (Chacal) doesn't have them, probably no one does.

You're lucky it was the bolt that gave out. Usually when they are overtightened it's the casting that fails.
Just snug them up. The shoulder contacts the head when it's tight.

I'm glad the head didn't crack, I don't know what happened I had my wrench set to 7.2 they were all fine then that one just snapped, I was hoping it wouldn't leak but it seeps out a little bit at the bottom of the half moon at the front everywhere else didn't leak I'm worried if I snug em more I'll snap another one, maybe I'll just smear a little bit of that rtv goop at the bottom of that one moon, thanx dude

The half moons usually do need some sealant on them.

O ok well once I get my hands on some bolts I'll take it apart again and put some sealant in those spots, just kinda a kick in the balls ive been fighting with an idel problem for a bit and finally found it. It was my valve clearance all 8 were horrible like never been done in 37 years had to drop 2 shim sizes on most but it fixed the problem right up

If you didnt replace the pressure washers on the bolts I'd highly recommend it

I will be doing that as soon as I track down replacement bolts but they seem to be hard to find, the donuts and washers are easy but I've only found 1 Yamaha site that have bolts $37 usd for 8 so but the time I pay canadian dollars that's a bit steep for 8 bolts, can I not just use regular bolts of the same length and size if I use the donuts and washers? What's the point of that flair end right by the threads

The special shouldered bolts also retain the rubber donuts, and prevent them from being damaged by the fastener. Using a regular bolt is asking for trouble.
Look at parts lots on auction sites. You should come across a full set for cheap that way (along with other small parts that you may need later).

    Hi @Plumper
    I’m just outside Vancouver.
I have tons of them for your 750.
Biggest problem is people over tighten the bolt to stop a leak when they need to replace the rubber doughnut on the bolts.
And when doughnuts are shot it doesn’t put enough pressure on the valve cover itself so the main vc gasket also leaks.

I am a bad moderator. We have polluted this thread long enough.
Any further discussion about fixing bikes should go into the thread for the bike in question.
