why do you think you need a head gasket?
the disassembly starts at the top I assume you do not have a fsm manual you do not need to remove crankshaft.
do you just want to replace head gasket?

do you have the carbs off? exhaust off

You don't need to remove the crank to remove the head. Just break the cam chain

Or leave the chain intact and remove the cams before removing the head.
More work, but less money. (can you tell that I'm pinching pennies more than usual? ;))

The cam chain dose not need to broke. Remove the sprockets on the cams then pull the cam out after removing the cam caps . Be sure to keep the cam caps in order thay must be put back in the same position.

What you need is a time machine.
Let me know when the brown truck delivers it, because I need one too.

On the subject of pennies Billy Connolly said copper wire was invented by two Scotsmen fighting over a penny.
