My diaphragms are not torn, but they are no longer stretchy. Can these be made more supple with some type of lubricant? Having problems with bike at idle after having torn down cards and cleaned out the gunk. Needle and seat were replaced, pilot Jets were replaced with the proper number with the proper number 40s.

Were the throttle shaft seals replaced? How about the idle mixture screw o-rings?
    Fuel levels wet-set?
Bench synch done, followed by idle mixture adjustment and running carb synch?

What I'm getting at is the diaphragms have to be in really bad shape for them to cause a hanging idle. They are not very stretchy to begin with.
New replacements are available, but be absolutely sure of everything else first. I strongly suspect that you have a vacuum leak, or that the carbs haven't been synched yet.

I stripped them down completely and soaked the carb bodies in berryman's carb dip

I don't have a problem with a hanging idle, I have a problem with no idle the bike just dies. Does anyone know the o-ring sizes for the air mixture screws and the throttle shaft o rings? Why seals were u cups and were still pretty supple. The bike only has 7100 miles on it.
