    Hello all,

Thanks to everyone who's posted the how-to's and their experiences on this site. Alot of good reads.

I've recently purchased a 82 Seca 650. It looks to be in original condition, other than the seat and exhaust pipes. I was looking for a new project when I came across it. It reminded me of a friends brothers bike, an RD350LC back in the day...similar in appearance. So I brought it home and have been slowly going through the systems.

    Some pics...[/ATTACH] IMG_E2624.JPG IMG_E2629.JPG IMG_E2626.JPG IMG_2605.JPG IMG_2606.JPG IMG_2688.JPG IMG_2707.JPG IMG_2710.JPG IMG_E2598.JPG IMG_E2610.JPG IMG_2701.JPG

Well that's a hell of a starting point. Good luck with the go-through. I have a friend here who said the same thing, regarding the RD resemblance...

Thanks. Gone through electrical and found some issues...corrosion etc. Everything works now. Will have to change the fuse box to a blade type box at some point. May change the signals and tail light. May go to LED's...dunno yet.
Front brakes are spongy...the front brake lines are the originals (date on the lines are 1984). Will update brake lines to stainless steel braided lines, master cylinder rebuild and replace caliper seals.
Fork oil had some sediment in them, seals are good.
That's it so far...long ways to go.

I think the RD's share some parts...tank, fender, brakes etc.

Lol. Not sure how I uploaded that pic.
The motor has 64,000kms on it, but seems to run well. Will check valves at some point but I'm hoping that I won't need the dining room table lol.

Nice use of the 3-jaw puller to act as a fork cap bolt pusher!

No worries. I plan on keeping it mostly stock with some minor upgrades...nothing irreversible. The airbox stays, although I like the look of pods, from what I've read they're too much trouble...it runs fine as it is.

Supper clean parts you have there. That shop is very nice in the background. Nice, clean and great tools the way it looks. I have a little shop envy going on....lol Keep up the great work.

Looking good. Check out the following link. He will make you replacement decals for your bike and he's in Canada.
Putting the original decals back on gives it that finished touch.

Been there. That's why the moment I think I am not sure about selling a bike I keep it. That's the early warning. Made that mistake with my CB750 K2.
