Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum but not new to the old yamahas, I took an xs400k (shown left) and made it my daily with the help of the xs400 forum. I've dubbed her 'old yam' (1983)
    IMG_20191001_185358457.jpg Here's my xj650, dubbed 'grand yam' (1980)
IMG_20191001_185141134.jpg I want to start fixing her up, but the first thing I want to do is get the seat on it, but the aluminum mounting bracket is busted!

My question is, where would I find one and am I calling it by the right name?
here's the part I'm looking for, it's the piece that's broken short above the spring. It's supposed to come all the way to the back for my seat to clip on to, but it clearly doesn't

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I figured it out! the guy I bought from bought the wrong seat for the bike, it turns out it's for an 82 XS1100!

I've ordered a new seat and eventually I'll order a replacement grab bar as well! Thanks for your help!
