I've noticed on my oil sight glass that the oil sometimes had a milky look, sometimes it seemed mixed with the oil other times was on top of the oil. https://imgur.com/a/VYmQDaM See lid: https://imgur.com/a/cqWjoFD
Could this be caused by condensation? Or is it too bad to just be that? Could be head gasket?

    Things to note:
    - I was doing small trips everyday (around 8 km per day) also during rainy days.
    - I have a air cooled xj 700s maxim, so it is not coolant.
    - I've noticed that I have some oil around the spark plug on the right side - not sure if could be related.
    - When I smell the oil lid I sense some gasoline smell.

I've changed the oil around 6 months ago.

Condensation. Short trips are the culprit. Make sure that the bike is fully warm for at least 20 minutes before shutting her down.

The gas smell might just be due to the rings not fully sealing since the engine is staying cold while you're running it, but watch that the oil level does not increase.

The oil near the sparkplug is likely due to a weepy valve cover gasket.

    Thanks for the reply!
I'm going to store the bike for the winter now. Do you think I should change the oil and filter? Or should I just go for a long ride?

Change the oil and filter first. Oil acidifies from combustion blowby, so keeping used oil in the crankcase during storage is not good for the crank and gears (in the long term).
