    Hi,

    Xj750 41y 1984

My front fork is working fine under braking however under hard acceleration it rises a lot (max way out) this is not comfortabele (the bike goes up and down a lot). I have never had this on other bikes.

The rear shocks are new and are not part of the problem.

I reinstalled the shocks with new oil seals and new oil but no improvement.

    Thanks for help.

Hmm, Maybe new springs needed? Progressives will also lessen that effect I think.

You can also just make preload spacers out of pvc pipe but @a100man recommendation is best

X3. My guess is your springs are worn out. You can measure them once you pull them out but when they are worn it will sit lower at rest and will move around a lot more under acceleration and braking.

when you take out the springs to check you may as well replace seals

Fixed. There was not enough oil in the forks.

I use Race Tech for all my suspension needs, Race Tech Emulators will do wonders for any of the old Damper Rod type forks, well worth the money.
    Cheers, 50gary
Edit, I just saw your last comment, Race Tech will tell you the proper level of oil to have in your forks. It's best measured with springs out forks vertical, and compressed. Then you fill each fork to a prescribed line, example: 4" from top of fork tube to oil surface, it's also important to get the level exactly the same in each side. I would start with 15wt. oil.
