Are we all modifying all the XJs?

I'm keeping mine stock until things break or rust out (like the fuel tank, for example - they're like hens' teeth). The brakes and suspension, while not the same as the later / current crop of sports-tourers, are good enough for me and work quite well as they are.
One thing I might do is drop the rider pegs an inch, but when I had a closer look I realised it's not as straightforward as I was hoping.

 

I'm keeping mine stock and any small changes I make are reversible. I've also laid in a few hard-to-find spares, like the 9-inch headlight and right-side cover.
