Recently broke up with my ex. Went outside to go for a ride one day only to notice my tank had been keyed, tires flattened and wiring cut. I've fixxed everything but the ignition switch and ignitor box. My original box was taken and plug was cut also ignition switch busted. Can anyone post a pic of where the wires go into the gnitor box and how to " hot wire " the ignition switch untill I find one. I'm loosing work and my patiences trying to figure it all out.
1982 xj1100.. TID 14-10 .. AND THE FACTORY IGNITION WIRE CONFIGURATION TO GET IT STARTED FOR NOW...

    THANK YOU.

Thank you for the reply. I've found a wiring diagram online but not sure if it's correct. Just bought this tci box online for $155 and really don't want to fry it. My big question is on the 4 prong plug , the orange and grey wires, are the going to the coils or coming from the pick ups?

    for the ignition switch

red wire runs from main fuse to key then it feeds the brown wire to all the other fuses except tail lights. the blue wire feeds the tail light fuse.
white /red wire goes to computer monitor

red yellow wire powers the hazard relay

I've just noticed that you have a 6 prong and a 4 prong plug. The xj1100 has a 8 prong and 4 prong plug. Not sure that's going to be correct for my bike

the 4 pin connector feeds the ignition coils the 6 position is from the pickups.

ohm out the redwhite wire to the ignition coils you should get the primary resistance.

on 6 position connector the orange and gray wires ohmed to black wire should give you pickup coil resistancs

xj1100 has 2 wires that go to the boost thats why you have an 8 position connector

    XJ1100 models:

    Pick-up coils:
    120 ohms +/- 20% = 96 ohms to 144 ohms acceptable range

    Ignition Coils:

Primary side (input from main wiring harness):
    2.5 ohms +/- 10% = 2.25 ohms - 2.75 ohms acceptable range

Secondary side (spark plug wires, without their end caps):
    11K ohms +/- 20% = 8,800 ohms - 13,200 ohms acceptable range

    Spark plug caps:
    5K +/- 20% = 4,000 to 6,000 ohms per cap acceptable range

    Spark plugs:
    0 ohms per plug

Okay I checked, doubled checked and triple checked the location of the wires onto the plug end: Going by the picture:

on the 8 pin plug going left to right The top row I numbered 1-2-3-4. The bottom row I numbered 5-6-7-8
    #1 grey wire
    #2 black w/red stripe
    #3 black w/white stripe
    #4 black w/yellow stripe
    #5 orange
    #6 NO WIRE
    #7 red w/white stripe
    #8 black

On the 4 pin plug going left to right The top row is 1-2. The bottom row is 3-4.

    #1 NO WIRE
    #2 grey
    #3 black
    #4 orange
    Hopefully this will help.

    You are a gentleman sir
