Curious if anyone has did any homework on what different rims will swap onto a xj750, is there a way to go a little wider in the back?

Bike is limited on rear tire width by shaft tube.

Yeah I was looking closer and see there really isn’t any wiggle room,I’m more interested in finding a nice set of spoked rims didn’t know if there was anything I could put right on

some virago spoke rims fit rare as hens teeth

wider tire some have hammered in the shaft tube to give clearance, does not seem wort it to me.

there is a few old threads about it.

A 140/70/17 width tire will fit in the rear. I only mention that just to give an idea of how much tire will fit in the swingarm of the XJ750.
Your next question will be "what wheel did you use". My answer will be "I built a custom wheel two tonnes of work." I'm not saying forget about it.
But...I view people with OCD as relaxed and well adjusted folks.
    Cheers, 50gary

Wish i known, i just threw that rim out after removing the rear clutch hub. I would have given it to you for free. Those rims are getting harder to come by.

Make sure when you buy it that it has the rear clutch hub. They tend to separate the two on ebay.

That is not a 900 Diversion rim.
Appears to be a 900 Seca and if memory serves it is only slightly wider 2.15 to 2.50. Same tire 120/90-18

140/70/18 fits the stockrim too. I rode it for 2 years with innertube. No problem.

Did that tyre fit the 900f. Did you use a wider tyre on the front wheel?

It did fit the 750 Secarat rearrim. Pain in the ..s to get it on the rim but functioned just fine and had a good look.

I was experimenting with the height of the front-rear end. A couple of mm's can make quite a difference when galloping through the mountainranges with speed and luggage..lol
Height of the tires and frontfork through the clamps made mine almost perfekt now in handling, to my preferences that is.

I might get one of those tyres for my 900. As long as your bike is handling well that's great.

Watch the height of your fronttire if you don't want to change the rake of your frontend. It's minor but noticable.

I will experiment a bit with it to get the handling right.

The 900 swingarm is longer, also the shock bolt is in a different position on the pumpkin or whatever you call it - thread on here somewhere recently....
