I hope this helps. The Seca Turbo is relatively simple. It relies on a blowoff valve in the airbox to prevent overboost. The turbo pressurizes the airbox, which in turn pressurizes the carburetors to provide boost. The float bowls are also pressurized to prevent fuel starvation.

You should be able to find more information in one of the threads below.

Is the blowoff valve the same as a wastegate k-moe?

    Yes. Same part, different name.

this is incorrect. The Turbo has a wastegate to limit the boost pressure and a BOV on the surge tank to relieve the pressure if the butterflies are slammed close.
The BOV is set a couple PSI higher than the wastegate.

Is the wastegate on the turbo unit and the BOV in the airbox?

Guys have modified their turbos by disconnecting the wastegate and relying on the
BOV for a few pounds extra boost but the problem with that is the turbo has potential to spin even faster when the BOV pops open. Dumping the pressure at the turbo wastegate will slow the turbo and keep it spinning safely within its limits.

The wastegate opens at 7psi. Any increase in boost pressure (power up kit or manual boost controller) is accomplished by manipulating the air pressure that actually reaches the wastegate actuator as it is non-adjustable.

Blow off valve is a couple of psi over max boost pressure, 14.2 psi according to my manual. My notes from the last time I was in the surge tank noted a 20mm preload on that spring.

Like Simmy said, it dumps boost pressure back into the intake of the compressor. This does not slow down the turbo, which is why it should never be used as a "substitute" for the wastegate.
