Hey all! Recently purchased a Maxim 750. Previous Owner is working on getting a title for me. Anyways, I’m having trouble finding out what year it is exactly. I’ve used the VIN ID website that was made but whenever I input the shorty VIN, it comes up with XJ550. Anyone able to help me out? Also I’m looking to purchase carb rebuild kit and a fuel PETCOCK to start off with. Shorty VIN is as follows: “15R019526”. Thanks guys!

    Welcome aboard!

The "15R" in your shorty VIN is the model code.
A long time ago I had bookmarked a huge PDF file that shows you have a US spec 1982 XJ750J "non Seca" model.

On the top right of each of this sites web page is the banner that will link you to our resident parts guru Chacal at XJ4ever.com

Thanks so much for the help! How would I go about ordering those parts? Do I shoot him a message?

A message would be a good place to start,
but I agree with k-moe's suggestion, and review the info in his link provided above first.

    just donot use gmail
look in catalog and request the parts you need or want for a quote include bike you want parts for.

best to look inside carbs first before ordering unless you just want all new parts. most jest and such do not need to be replaced

My gmail accounts are all that I can use anymore, both privately and professionally. No trouble at all.

We've been having off-and-on again problems with gmail accounts for months and months now........no pattern discernable, research as to "why?" has been fruitless:

    https://www.xjbikes.com/forums/threads/g-mail-users-alert.127047

When it first started, it was basically any and all e-mail account with a .gmail address (100%). Now, it's about 1 in 100. It has never happened (or, so rarely that I can't recall it) with all other domains, i.e. yahoo, outlook, comcast, aol, etc.
