Any idea the miles? Is there any oil in it? If so, probably frozen from sitting. Soaking in ATF or some rust penetrating oil usually gets things freed up. As far as what else it needs, likely carbs re-done, new rubber and brake re-build. Beyond that, what condition is the tank in? Is the electrical system unmolested? Even so, probably should have upgraded fuse box. Do a valve adjustment. After all that, it'll probably run, so look for other things, but that could be enough to start enjoying it.

Yes - ultimately it could be a replacement engine or bits of one. The rest looks ok? Is it worth the asking price though?

It says it has 15,458 miles - about half of the XJ650 I have now!

I haven't seen it in person yet, so haven't checked out inside of tank, fuse box, the usual stuff yet.

That's the real question, I suppose. Any opinions?

$150 tops. $250 if it had a title.

Make the offer. Include your contact info for when the seller finds out that he's asking way too much.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Looks like a great winter, summer, winter project. You may be able to unstick the engine with some time and KROIL.

No title no keys scream STOLEN at some point in its life and should be avoided like the plague. If you can check the VIN with your local sheriff to see if its clear then maybe. Just plan on replacing the engine, ebay should have several and there are links on this forum on how easy/difficult it is to swap a different XJ engine if you can't just another 650. I think I paid $300 for a low mileage XJ700 engine a few years back.
I'm with KMoe, that's a $150 bike as it sits.
