Neutral sensor wher'is on yamaha xj 750 seca 11m?

    Hallo and thanks for accept me on this marvellous forum , excuse my English but I'm Italian . I stay restored my xj 750 seca 11m year 1983 and I have two problem. First problem is the light of neutral sensor, the lite on tachometer is OK but the neutral sensor not run. You know wher'is the neutral sensor for verified it and change if is broken. The second problem that color for repaint. My xj is 001U quartz silver metallic, but in Italy this code paint is not know in the paint shop. Have another code this paint. Thanks.

    Hi, the neutral sensor is under the engine on the left hand side. It’s in the crank casing and has a single wire connected to it. Maybe check the cable and connecter first, if ok then the sensor is probably faulty.

    The plunger should have positive spring pressure, if it looks like the one on the right it should be replaced.
    It should be installed with a new copper washer.

    Yes the one on the right is how my switch was, I replaced it and it is working now.

    Or cleaned. Sludge buildup gets very sticky after a long sit. Most of the time the switch can be cleaned and works fine.
