i am trying a set of hand guards with integral mirrors, trying to avoid the sticky out mirrors catching my shed doors, cut some holes to fit some small indicator lenses i had kicking around, with teensy led flashers fixed inside the guard to shine through the lens

liking the handguards where does the mirror bit fit?
have you fitted an electronic flasher unit to cater for the leds, dunno if your bike has the self cancelling unit in the flasher unit , if so you would loose that feature

To us it's so much more fun to build and ride. You can virtually do anything you like and, in general, people really seem to like different builds so they can start a conversation.
When parked near very expensive bikes the most attention goes to the ratbike. This to great dismay of the other owners...
With a nice bike you can get really annoyed with a scratch on the paint or something. To solve it you sure have to pay for it.
With a rat it's 'character' and shows it had an adventure of some kind. And you can tell about it.
Ofcourse maintenance etc stays important.. There is no ratty thing about that!
The bike needs to serve me instead of the other way around.
