Picked up another ‘82 XJ650RJC (15U) on Friday. Bought it sight unseen as a parts bike but, luckily, it’s really in too good a shape for parts. Problem now is I still need to find a parts bike. Oh well, I suppose there are worse problems ... but at least now I have the perfect reason to find another, though I’m not so sure my wife believes me.

Interesting little factoid. The serial numbers on these two bikes are only 13 apart. Makes one think. Were these two XJ’s assembled on the same day, only 13 spaces apart, on some far-off assembly line in Japan, all those 40 years ago, now only to be sitting side by side in my shop? Kinda makes a guy feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Somebody pass me a tissue ...

I’d throw a few pics up here but I think I read somewhere I haven’t made enough posts yet to be granted this privilege. Any truth to this? I was wondering if I posted several posts about not being able to post pictures then make picture posting possible, or possibly only be considered bad form(um)?
Would it make me picture post worthy?

I think I smell some old gas somewhere ...

Pictures welcomed, encouraged! I think you only have to have 5 posts before being allowed to attach pictures so come on, show us what you got!

Below is a pic of my Seca from today (not the one I had bought for parts). With some parts from tj and advise from others on this forum the carbs are sorted out. Did a nice 70 km loop today, never skipped a beat.

    Agreed.
A bike that is acquired to give it's bits and pieces so that another will live is an "Organ Donor".
Hoot, your Seca is a stunner, very pretty.

Here a few pics of the “parts bike”. I had it out for a short 7 km ride today, runs good. The Wolf 4 into 2 brings back some memories. One funny thing, the PO relocated the rear turn signals to the licence plate bracket and the short brackets they originally hung from are gone.

I have a pair of those brackets and I think I remember where I stashed them.
PM me if you want them.
If you got that for parts bike money that's awesome.
