Ok, so I was able to find a Rebuild kit with 4 #42 Pilot Jet's. And set's of Main Jets Ranging from #125-#145. Decided to leave the Pod's on the shelf to avoid any unnecessary complications. Would you suggest going with the #125's to compensate for my 4 into 1?

I haven't found a kit that increased by increments of 1 so far, besides the factory Rebuild Kits, #125 has been the base of every kit I've found. Admittedly my Motorcycle part's sourcing skills probably aren't the greatest.

your muffler has a lot to do with it. if it's a real muffler one size should do but if you can see thru it, maybe two

    Thanks, but I don't have an 86 XV-1000, it's an 82 XJ-750 Maxim with an Aftermarket exhaust.

That's the exhaust, came from eBay. Hasn't been modified in any way. Payed a little more then I would have liked, but it is a great sounding Exhaust. Real quiet at idle, but gets surprisingly loud on the road.

I put #125's in it and everything got way way better. Been riding it to work for a week now and it's perfect in normal Riding situation's. But its not finished, if I jump from 1st to 3rd and do a pull to 9k it comes on strong from 2k to like 4 1/2k. Then from 4 1/2 to like 6k power will significantly drop off. But once it Clears 6k it pulls like Hell up to 9 thousand and I shift to 4th at 90 mph.

With the factory Jets it would start to sputter and stumble at like 5k, asking for more fuel. And I couldn't get it passed 70mph. The # 125's made a huge difference, it's almost there. I'm just trying to find out if their slightly Lean or slightly Rich now.

The original TCI can probably be repaired. Don't throw it out.

The jet fits your carb, and is the size that you likely need.

So I was able to sort my mid range power issue, turns out I'm just stupid lol. When I lubed my Clutch Cable I threw it back on and called it a night. Then completely forgot to adjust it lol. Everything's cool now..

one of the things that is important when working on bikes is not to get tunnel vision on what may be your problem.
always a good idea would be recheck any work you did.
in your case the clutch cable.
the systems of the bike all interact with the operation of the bike
good job and thanks for telling us to complete the thread

Ok so I finally got ahold of a Compression Tester, and the Results are in. Cylinder 1 is 115lbs, Cylinder 2 is 120lbs, Cylinder 3 is 135lbs and 4 is 130lbs. From what I've gathered Cylinder 1 is presenting a slight issue because it's not within 10% of the other 3. Would that be an accurate assessment, or have I been mislead?

The Bike runs well enough, and actually really comes alive above around 5500 RPM's. But I have a feeling I'm not getting all she's got for some reason.

minimum psi is 128. standard is 156 psi i believe. for the 1982 xj750 seca at least. not sure about the maxim. your compression is low so you're not getting full power

I'm working on a bike with 120 across the board. I haven't ridden the bike yet but it starts up easy. I'm sure when I take her out for a ride ill also have some trouble cranking past 70 mph
